"Only Some of True Love's Miracles" in Lightspeed
Hello everyone! I write to you from the depths of a nasty cold and also being nearly done with a novel, so this is fairly short.
Only Some of True Love’s Miracles in Lightspeed
A miracle, done once, must be done a thousand times again, or else it is no miracle at all, but merely a coincidence.
Only Some of True Love’s Miracles is free to read today in Lightspeed. It is, in a sense, a retelling of the Galatea myth. Or, perhaps, an expansion on it—imagining the same miracles, not a singular story, but as a means of economic and social development.
I wrote this story basically all in one go in less than an hour. I’m very proud of it. It has that certain strangeness which is common to my favorite stories. I hope you will like it, too.
If you do like this story, or some of my other very odd stories, I encourage you to subscribe to Lightspeed. John Joseph Adams (the editor) is very willing to take risks on stories like this one which would otherwise have a hard time finding a home.
Upcoming Stories
My next published story will likely be Richard Nixon and the Princess of the Crows, also in Lightspeed, coming in May. After that, I have a vampire story with ReacTor (formerly tor.com) in October.
